The M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF) is currently seeking applications for the position of Project Associate-1. MSSRF, established in 1988 as a not-for-profit trust, aims to accelerate the use of modern science for agricultural and rural development with a focus on improving the lives and livelihoods of tribal and rural communities. Essential Qualification

Master’s Degree in Agricultural Sciences/ Plant Molecular Biology/ Life Sciences/ Biotechnology/ Botany with a minimum of 60% marks.

Desirable qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience in working with crop species. Basic knowledge of plant physiology, plant anatomy, and sectioning is preferred.

Job Description: The selected candidate will be expected to deliver on the project objectives.

Age Limit: 35 years

Location: Chennai

Period: The position is purely temporary and contractual, with a maximum duration of three years. The initial appointment will be for one year, and extensions will be based on the candidate’s performance. The selected candidate can also apply for the regular Ph.D. program with the University of Madras, provided they meet the eligibility criteria.

Remuneration

• For scholars selected through National Eligibility Tests – CSIR-UGC NET, including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE, or through a selection process conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions: Rs. 31,000/- + 24% HRA
• For others: Rs. 25,000/- + 24% HRA

1. Candidates currently employed in any organization should bring a “No Objection Certificate” from their present employer.
2. Candidates already working in MSSRF should submit their applications through their reporting authority.
3. Original certificates must be presented for verification at the time of the interview.
4. Selected candidates are expected to join duty immediately.
