Applications are invited from eligible candidates for the post of Project Associate-1 to work in the SERB-DST funded project (CRG/2022/004337) entitled “A scalable system for the production of human induced pluripotent stem cell derived functional retinal pigmented epithelial cells” at the Department of Immunology and Stem Cell Biology, Aravind Medical Research Foundation, Madurai Tamil Nadu.

Duration of Project: 3 years
Upper Age Limit: 35 Years
Appointment: Selected candidate will be initially appointed for a duration of 6 months. Upon satisfactory performance the post will be extended till the end of the project.
Job Description: Carrying out human iPSC culture and their differentiation to RPE cells. Techniques like immunostaining, qPCR, western blotting, Image analysis and Spectrophotometer analysis need to be performed. Routine cell culture lab maintenance related works.
Essential Qualification:
- Master’s degree in Natural Science, Agricultural Science, Biological Science, MVSc or bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from recognized University. Candidates with NET, GATE or other national level examinations conducted by central government departments and their agencies such as DST, DBT, ICMR etc.
Selected candidate will be paid a fellowship of 31,000 + 16% HRA, as per the SERB norms (SB/S9/Z-07/2020, dated 25th August 2020).
Candidates with prior experience in cell culture is preferred.
