Job Description:
The ideal candidate should have a degree in Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or DIFAT, and a minimum of 2 years of experience in the FMCG industry, specifically in distilleries, breweries, beverages, or food industries. They should have hands-on experience in analysis techniques, lab instrument calibration and maintenance, and knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS). Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
Responsibilities:
- Control quality defects in incoming and finished goods to ensure customer satisfaction by maintaining high-quality standards
- Build and promote a food safety and quality culture within the unit
- Monitor end-to-end quality control in incoming and online checks
- Perform quality control and other control activities in the factories and materials
- Check raw materials, packaging materials, and in-process and finished goods against set quality standards
- Maintain records and updation in SAP
- Train and develop shop floor workmen
- Conduct internal quality audits for GMP, GRMS, and SQIP
- Liaise with government authorities such as FSSAI, LMR, and Excise for audits and compliance
- Ensure samples are sent to external laboratories and equipment calibration is done as required
- Analyze raw materials and packaging materials, reporting results in a timely manner
- Visit the market for new product surveys, product quality assessments, and collecting complaint samples
- Implement GMP/GLP, GSP, and GHP at all times, and maintain 5S
- Maintain good oral and written communication skills and MIS data
- Handle vendor communication for rejections and development in coordination with the site QA team
- Demonstrate a quick learning and proactive attitude
