Probation – TWO YEARS

Headquarters – Headquarters is at New Delhi with Laboratory at Chandigarh, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Kamrup (Assam), Pune & Bhopal. In connection with performing the duties, the officer may be required to serve in any part of India.

Other Details – The post is General Central Service, Group ‘B’, Gazetted, Non-Ministerial. The post is permanent.

Pay Scale – Level – 07 (Rs.44,900 – 1,42,400/-) in Pay Matrix as per CCS (R.P.) Rules, 2016. (Total emoluments excluding T.A. & HRA at the time of initial appointment will be Rs.44,900/- p.m. plus DA as applicable per month approximately).

Essential Qualification (s)

A. Educational –

  • Masters Degree in Botany or Zoology or Microbiology or Biotechnology or Biochemistry or Physical Anthropology or Genetics or Forensic Science with Botany or Zoology as one of the subjects during all the three years of Bachelor of Science level from a recognised university.
    OR
  • B.E or B. Tech. in Biotechnology from a recognised university.

B. Experience – Three years experience in research and analytical work in the field of Biology in any Central and State Organisation or recognised institute or university or forensic science laboratories under Central Govt. and State Govt.

Desirable Qualification (s) – Experience of working in a forensic science laboratory.

Duty(ies)

Crime Case Examination, giving evidence in the Court of Law, Crime Scene Examination, providing guidance to the junior scientific staff for case analysis, R&D activities on Forensic Activities and imparting training in the respective field of forensic specialization to the trainees from different investigating agencies / forensic science labs and other organizations.

Any Other Conditions

  1. Leprosy Cured persons are suitable for the post of Junior Scientific Officer (Biology) in CFSLS subject to the condition that their upper limbs are functioning normally.
  2. Acid attack victims are suitable for the post of Junior Scientific Officer (Biology) in CFSLS provided that their vision and hearing have not been impaired.

  3. A candidate will be eligible to get the benefit of community reservation only in case the

If a candidate indicates in his/her application form that he/she belongs to SC/ST/OBC/General category but subsequently writes to the Commission to change his/her category, such request shall not be entertained by the Commission.
  4. Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), as indicated against the various item(s) in the VACANCY DETAILS can apply to the respective posts even if the post is not reserved for them but has been identified as Suitable. However, such candidates will be considered for selection for such posts by a general standard of merit. Persons suffering from not less than 40% of relevant disability shall alone be eligible for the benefit of reservation and other relaxations as permissible under the rules. Thus, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) persons can avail the benefit of -i) Reservation and other Concessions & Relaxations as permissible under the rules only
    when the degree of physical disability is 40% or more and the posts are reserved for PwBD candidates. ii) Other Concessions & Relaxations as permissible under the rules only when the degree of physical disability is 40% or more and the posts are suitable for PwBD candidates.
  5. In cases, where a sufficient number of eligible Physically Handicapped candidates are
    not available for interviews for posts exclusively reserved and identified as suitable for them, the experience qualification may be relaxed (up to 50 % ) so as to get an adequate number of candidates as per laid down norms. This applies to years of experience and not the nature of experience.

APPLICATION FEE

  1. Candidates are required to pay a fee of Rs. 25/- (Rupees Twenty five) only either by
    remitting the money in any branch of the SBI by cash or by using the net banking facility of the SBI or by using a visa/master credit/debit card.
  2. No fee for SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates of any community. No “fee exemption” is
    available to Gen/OBC/EWS male candidates and they are required to pay the full prescribed fee.
  3. Applications without the prescribed fee would not be considered and summarily rejected. No representation against such rejection would be entertained.
  4. Fee once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstance nor can the fee be held in reserve for any other examination or selection.

    I am in my final semester of M.Sc. will I be eligible to apply for this post I am really interested in this field. My queries are I don’t have experience and I doesn’t belong to Forensic science background.
    Can u please guide me I hoping for your reply
