Looking to work at AIIMS New Delhi as a Senior Research Fellow? Then you must pass the hurdle that is the interview questions, so make sure you check out the possible questions along with their answers below

  1. Can you provide a detailed overview of your research experience in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Immunology, or Molecular Biology, and how it relates to the “Deciphering the Oncogenic network of Ubiquitin specific peptidase 37 (USP37) and its therapeutic potential in prostate cancer” project? Answer: During my post-graduate studies in Life Sciences, I specialized in Molecular Biology, gaining two years of research experience. My work focused on studying cancer-related proteins and their oncogenic pathways. Specifically, I investigated the role of Ubiquitin specific peptidase 37 (USP37) in prostate cancer, which aligns perfectly with the objectives of this project.
  2. How have you utilized your UGC-CSIR NET/GATE/GPAT/ DST/DBT/DAE/DOS/ DRDO/MHRD score in your previous research work? Can you share an example of how this score has contributed to your academic achievements? Answer: My UGC-CSIR NET/GATE (or relevant) score has been instrumental in shaping my research career. It opened up opportunities for me to secure fellowships, grants, and access to prestigious research projects. For instance, based on my GATE score, I was awarded a research fellowship that supported my studies during my post-graduation and allowed me to focus on cutting-edge research in the field of Molecular Biology.
  3. The project duration is three years. How do you plan to approach and manage long-term research goals and objectives during this period? Can you demonstrate your ability to work with a high level of dedication and perseverance? Answer: To effectively manage the three-year project duration, I believe in setting clear milestones and breaking down the research objectives into achievable tasks. I will establish a well-defined research plan and timeline to ensure timely progress. My prior experience in conducting long-term research projects has taught me to be resilient and dedicated, enabling me to overcome challenges and remain focused on achieving the project’s goals.
  4. In the context of cancer research, what techniques and methodologies have you utilized in your previous research work? How do these skills align with the requirements of the “Deciphering the Oncogenic network of Ubiquitin specific peptidase 37 (USP37)” project? Answer: In my previous research work, I have employed various techniques such as PCR, Western blotting, cell culture, and immunofluorescence to investigate cancer-related pathways. Additionally, I have experience in data analysis and interpretation using specialized software. These skills align perfectly with the requirements of the current project, as they will be essential in deciphering the role of USP37 in prostate cancer and exploring its therapeutic potential.
  5. Can you describe a challenging situation you encountered during your previous research experience and how you successfully resolved it? How did your problem-solving skills contribute to overcoming this challenge? Answer: During my research on cancer-related proteins, I encountered a complex data analysis issue that required innovative problem-solving. I implemented a novel algorithm to process and interpret the data, leading to a breakthrough in our understanding of the protein’s function. My ability to think critically and devise creative solutions was instrumental in overcoming this challenge, demonstrating my problem-solving capabilities as a researcher.

(Note: The answers provided are sample responses and can be tailored based on the candidate’s actual experience and achievements in the relevant research areas.)
