Job Summary

Under limited supervision, provide advice and support on a range of products using their technical resources along with sales skills. May assist in preparing product documentation. Demonstrate how to use new products and/or services.

Who we are looking for

• Preferred experience in Proteomics, Genomics, Microbiology & Bio-Chemistry lab techniques.
• Hands on experience with HPLC, GC-MS, RT-PCR, FPLC, FTIR, AAS, SEM/TEM to support “Chromatography” product line
• Masters/Doctrate in Science (Bio-Technology & Industrial BT, Microbiology, Bio-Chemistry, Applied/Advanced microbiology, Bio-Informatics, Nanotechnology, Bio-Medical Engg/Instrumentation)
• Excellent communication in English (written & Verbal) – ability to interact with native English speakers
• Adequate Typing skills – minimum of 25 wpm with 98+% accuracy
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office – MS Word and MS Excel and/or MS Access
• Positive attitude towards work, team, learning and taking up initiatives/tasks
• Ability to provide accurate information in user-friendly manner
• Flexible to shifts
• Attention to details – Quality, training abilities and people management
• Ability to handle business calls

I would start by empathizing with the customer’s requirements and explaining the unavailability of the requested product. I would then present them with similar products that can achieve similar results, detailing their specifications and benefits. Additionally, I would explore whether there are any upcoming releases or alternative solutions in development that might meet their needs. The goal is to ensure the customer is aware of options and feels supported in finding the best solution for their experiment.

3:Can you share an experience where you successfully upsold or cross-sold a product to a customer? A: Certainly. In a recent interaction, a customer contacted me for guidance on a specific chromatography product for protein purification. During our conversation, I learned about the customer’s broader research objectives. Recognizing an opportunity, I suggested an advanced version of the product that offered additional features aligned with their goals. I explained how this upgrade could enhance their results and streamline their workflow. The customer appreciated the suggestion and opted for the advanced product. This not only met their immediate needs but also contributed to a more efficient and effective research process for them.

 4:How do you ensure effective communication with both native English speakers and non-native English speakers? A: Effective communication is a priority in my role. When interacting with native English speakers, I focus on clear articulation and using appropriate technical terminology. I ensure my explanations are concise and to the point, addressing their specific inquiries. For non-native English speakers, I adopt a more patient and simplified communication style, avoiding jargon and complex sentence structures. I actively listen to their questions, asking for clarifications if needed, and use visual aids like diagrams or illustrations to supplement explanations. The key is tailoring my communication approach to each individual’s language proficiency level while maintaining a helpful and respectful tone.
