Are you eager to apply for the JRF job at IISER Mohali? Looking for some ways to prepare? Then check out the 5 possible interview questions along with their answers below.

  1. Can you provide an overview of your research experience in plant genetics and physiology, plant-microbe interaction, plant immunity, plant molecular biology, bioinformatics, image analysis, and biochemistry? Answer: I have practical research experience in plant genetics and physiology, specifically in studying the interaction between plants and microbes. I have also worked in the field of plant molecular biology, bioinformatics, image analysis, and biochemistry.
  2. Have you worked with plant tissue culture, cloning, and Agrobacterium-Mediated Plant Transformation? If yes, please elaborate on your experience. Answer: Yes, I have prior research experience of at least 6 months in performing plant tissue culture, cloning, and Agrobacterium-Mediated Plant Transformation. I have successfully conducted experiments involving these techniques and obtained positive results.
  3. How familiar are you with omics analyses and genetic screens? Can you provide examples of relevant projects or research you have been involved in? Answer: I am well-versed in omics analyses, including genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics. I have worked on projects where I performed data analysis and interpretation using these techniques. Regarding genetic screens, I have experience in conducting screenings to identify genetic factors associated with specific plant traits or responses.
  4. Can you explain the significance and potential applications of studying the beneficial effects of Enterobacter sp. SA187 on plant development under limited nitrogen availability? Answer: Studying the beneficial effects of Enterobacter sp. SA187 on plant development under limited nitrogen availability is important because it can contribute to the development of sustainable agricultural practices. Understanding the mechanisms by which this bacterium enhances plant growth and nutrient uptake can lead to the development of biofertilizers or other strategies to improve crop productivity in nitrogen-deficient environments.
  5. How do you plan to contribute to the ongoing research project on characterizing the beneficial effects of Enterobacter sp. SA187 on plant development? Answer: I plan to contribute by conducting comprehensive omics analyses, including genomics and transcriptomics, to gain insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying the beneficial effects of Enterobacter sp. SA187 on plant development. I will also utilize genetic screens to identify key genes and pathways involved. Additionally, I will collaborate with team members to design and perform experiments, analyze data, and contribute to the overall project objectives.
