The Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar, an autonomous institute of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, is inviting applications from Indian Nationals to join in the following temporary and project-based position.

Position: Senior Research Fellow (01 position)

Project: DBT project “Evaluating genetic determinants of chikungunya virus (CHIKV) towards epidemic potential”

Principal Investigator: Dr. Soma Chattopadhyay, Scientist-F, ILS, Bhubaneswar

Fellowship: Rs. 35000/- + @16%HRA per month

Eligibility and Selection:

Candidates having M.Sc. in Virology/Life Sciences/Biotechnology or other allied subjects with minimum 60% aggregate marks (relaxation as per GOI guidelines) from a recognized university and having two years of research experience are eligible to apply. Candidate should have qualified any national level entrance examination like NET-JRF/NET-LS/GATE-Biotech/Life Sciences etc. Experience in animal handling, molecular virology, viral infection and associated assays, mammalian cell culture, and other cell biology techniques are required.

Age Limit: The candidate should be below 32 years in age, as on 20.11.2023. Age relaxation will

be given to the candidates as per Govt. of India rules.

Selection will be carried out through online application screening, followed by an online interview process.

The selected candidates will not have any right to claim explicit or implicit for any post in the Institute of Life Sciences. The list of shortlisted candidates will be displayed on the ILS website and intimated over email. The decision of the institute regarding the selection of the candidates will be final and no correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
