Genetic Services Unit (GSU) has been jointly established in 2016 by the National Institute of Biomedical Genomics (NIBMG), Kalyani, Department of Biotechnology, Government of India & Government of West Bengal. The objective of GSU is to provide a reliable diagnosis for various genetic defects that manifest either at birth or later in life.
GSU is looking for a motivated individual interested in a career in molecular diagnostics for the position listed below

This position is contractual. The appointment will be initially given for one year, which is extendable depending upon performance, the requirement of the project and availability of funds. Interested

Consolidated Remuneration [INR] Per Month – 20,000/- plus 24 percent HRA
Essential Qualifications – Master’s degree in biochemistry/ biotechnology/ genetics/ zoology/ bioinformatics.
Desirable Qualifications –
- Experience in genetic and genomic data analysis.
- Good communication skills in Bengali, Hindi, and English.
- Experience in handling clinical samples and data.
- Hands-on working experience in molecular biology techniques (e.g., PCR, DNA sequencing) and data analysis.
Nature of Duty –
- Genetic and genomic analyses of biospecimens and data.
- Maintenance of referral database and laboratory inventory.
