Applications are invited from motivated and eligible candidates for the Post/Program of Summer Internship in the Dept. of Preventive Oncology, BRAIRCH AIIMS New Delhi. This position is advertised under the SSR scheme of DST-SERB for its funded project.

Duration: Up to two months (8 weeks)

Project Title: Development of a novel cancer immunotherapeutic agent by incorporating cancer/testis antigen NY-ESO-1 into Mycobacterium indicus pranii and evaluation of its antitumor efficacy

and immune mechanisms using mouse model of tumor.

1. What specific skills or knowledge do you possess that would make you a strong candidate for this Summer Internship program? Answer: As a Biological Sciences student, I have a strong foundation in basic biology, genetics, and molecular biology concepts. I have also completed courses in Immunology and Cell Biology, which I believe will be particularly relevant to this internship program. In addition, I have previous laboratory experience in performing cell culture, PCR, and Western blotting experiments, which will be useful in assisting with the research project.
2. What are your long-term career goals and how do you see this Summer Internship program fitting into those goals? Answer: My long-term career goal is to pursue a career in the field of biomedical research with a focus on cancer biology. I see this Summer Internship program as a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in cancer immunotherapy research and to contribute to ongoing research efforts in the field. It will also provide me with the opportunity to network with professionals in the field and to gain exposure to various research techniques and methodologies. Overall, this internship will be a valuable step in my career journey towards achieving my long-term goals.
3. How will you contribute to the development of a novel cancer immunotherapeutic agent during your Summer Internship position in the Dept. of Preventive Oncology, BRAIRCH AIIMS New Delhi? Answer: I plan to contribute to the project by conducting experiments and analyzing data, as well as collaborating with other researchers on the team. I am also eager to learn from my colleagues and gain experience in cancer research, which will allow me to contribute to future projects in this area.
4. Can you describe any previous research or laboratory experience you have had in the field of cancer immunotherapy or related areas? Answer: During my undergraduate degree, I worked in a research laboratory that focused on cancer immunotherapy. I helped to conduct experiments on mice that were treated with immunotherapeutic agents to target various types of cancer. I also analyzed the results of these experiments and presented them to my research team.
