Intern – Biotechnology

We are looking at hiring qualified MSc/B. Tech / M. Tech in Biotechnology, who is willing to work in Patent Searching domain. We are looking for fresh postgraduate or people who are pursuing specialization in Biotechnology, a curiosity to understand technology, emerging market trends, and the underlying technology driving them, and a passion for creative, strategic thinking about the future of our client’s business with an interest in learning about patents and intellectual property.

The candidate will work in the field of intellectual property (IP/Patents) domain where he/she will work on various project such as patent and non-patent prior art searching, Reclassifications and classification of patents etc.

About You:

  • M.Sc./B.Tech/M.Tech or equivalent degree-Biotechnology
  • specific technical expertise in immunology, immunotherapy and tumor biology with Advanced knowledge of Cells of immune system, Cancer/tumor antigens, Car T-cell therapy, TCRs, antigens and antigen specificity, Immunoglobulins, cluster of differentiation, etc. Candidates should have done research project or thesis in one or more core areas of Biotechnology.
  • Strong grasp on core immunology fundamentals
  • Must be a fast learner and must demonstrate strong aptitude for out-of-the-box thinking and problem solving.

What will you be doing in this role?

  • Working on re-classification of patents which is categorizing patents based on the technical domain.
  • Preparing reports by performing patent/non-patent prior-art search and technical analysis to support clients on patent filing decisions.
  • Quality Assurance – Adherence and compliance to set quality standards ensuring customer requirements are met in full.
  • Updating technical skills proactively in upcoming technologies being widely used across the industry.

Hours of Work 

This is an intern position requiring 40 hours per week based out of Noida. (Remote working is also feasible)

By accurately reclassifying patents, we ensure that they are organized in a way that reflects their actual technological content, aiding in efficient retrieval and analysis.

4. How would you approach a prior-art search for a new biotechnology invention? Answer: Performing a prior-art search involves looking for existing knowledge that might be similar to the new invention. To approach this, I would start by defining the key concepts and technical terms related to the invention, such as immune system cells, tumor antigens, and T-cell therapies. Then, I would use specialized patent databases and academic sources to search for patents, scientific articles, and other relevant documents that discuss similar technologies. The goal is to determine the novelty and uniqueness of the new invention in comparison to existing knowledge.

5.
