Job Advertisement: Laboratory Research Assistant

(AMR Surveillance Research Project)

A reputed research organization, The Foundation for Medical Research, is actively seeking
applications for the position of Laboratory Research Assistant exclusively from the city of
Mumbai. We are looking for dedicated candidates who hold a B.Sc. degree in Microbiology,
Life Sciences or Biotechnology and keen on pursuing an M.Sc. degree (by Research) in
Applied Biology.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

1. B.Sc. Graduates ONLY: We are specifically seeking candidates with a B.Sc. in
   Microbiology/Life Sciences/Biotechnology, demonstrating outstanding academic
   performance (>57%) and a strong commitment to pursuing a career in research.
2. Microbiology and Molecular Biology Proficiency: Profound knowledge and
   practical experience in microbiology and molecular biology techniques are essential.
3. Lab Equipment Handling: Ability to proficiently handle and calibrate laboratory
   equipment.
4. Experimental Planning: Capability to meticulously plan and execute experiments.
5. Data Recording Expertise: Strong skills in methodical data recording.
6. Health and Mumbai Residency: Candidates should be in good health and MUST
   BE residents of Mumbai with excellent connectivity.

Desirable Skills:

1. Infectious Bacteria Expertise: Prior experience in working with infectious bacteria
   and familiarity with biosafety practices is highly desirable.
2. Genomics or Metagenomics Exposure: Exposure to genomics or metagenomics is a
   plus.
3. Exceptional Writing Skills: Strong writing skills are advantageous.

The selected candidate will be appointed on a project basis, with a consolidated remuneration of Rs. 25,000/- per month, based on qualifications and experience. Prior to finalizing the appointment, the successful candidate will need to undergo competency testing. Confirmation of studentship will only occur in the post-probation period (6 months) after joining.
