United Breweries Ltd, a renowned company in the beverage industry, is currently looking to hire a qualified and experienced Malster for their facility in Dharuhera, Haryana, India.
Job Title: Malster
Location: Dharuhera
Qualification: M.Sc (Microbiology) / B. Tech (Food Technology) / M.Sc Biotechnology
Years of experience: Minimum 6 years of experience
Job Purpose
The Malster’s primary responsibility is to ensure that the malt produced at Patiala meets the quality requirements outlined in the Quality Manuals issued by CTC.
Job Responsibilities
Quality:
- Follow Quality Manuals issued by CTC
- Ensure no non-conforming malt is supplied to breweries without prior written agreement from Patiala Maltster
- Manage the frequency of analysis at all malting producing units for UB as specified in the UB Malting Manual
- Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of critical lab equipment targeting zero downtime
Maintenance of Records
- Maintain daily records of raw materials, packaging materials, in-process product, and finished product
- Highlight any non-conformity to the Maltster and Unit Head
- Develop corrective and preventive action plans in consultation with the site tech team
- Maintain records of hygiene audit, packaging quality, and quality complaints
- Submit reports to CTC as per the given schedule
Unit Complaints
Address quality complaints regarding Patiala malt within 48 hours of receipt and maintain complete records. Close complaints within 10 days.
Self & Subordinate Development
- Provide on-the-job training to subordinates
- Arrange quality control meetings with process, laboratory, and utility teams, as well as workmen, to ensure quality standards are met
- Identify training programs for self-improvement
Calibration
Calibrate and maintain all inspection, measuring, and test equipment using NPL calibrated master equipment.
Others
Ensure proper operation of the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) to meet local government standards for treated water.
