Job Description
Overview:
The Online QC Executive will be responsible for ensuring the best quality of products and minimum customer complaints through stringent on-line quality control checks and finished product inspection. They will implement the right quality control systems/standards for processes, physical systems, and environment. The role also involves trouble shooting during online production to minimize wastage and ensure quality, maintaining GMP, GHK GLP, and internal/external audits, as well as root cause and failure analysis for quality defects and implementation of corrective actions.

Accountabilities:
- Ensuring that the quality of potatoes used for production is as per the standard specifications
- Frying samples and conducting COOK Test to check various factors like undesirable color, internal defects, and greening percentage
- Providing status reports to the Agro Department and indicating the number of pickers needed for specific lots
- Deciding whether a lot should be accepted or rejected
- Conducting Cook’s Test periodically for potatoes stored in warehouses
Conducting online quality checks in the process area:
- Ensuring all key operating parameters of machines are in specified ranges
- Checking peelers, fryers, slicers, chip conveyors, seasoning tumblers, etc.
- Checking other factors like slice thickness, surface moisture, anti-foaming agent usage, dwell time, and seasoning level
- Conducting analytical tests for blanching, fryer oil utilization, and other parameters
- Taking corrective actions to resolve problems
Conducting online quality checks and finished products’ inspection in the packaging area:
- Ensuring Quality Checkers conduct regular checks for air leakage, weight, batch printing, and air fill
- Conducting analytical tests for oxygen percentage in bags and film quality
- Communicating concern areas and taking corrective actions
Monitoring machines in the process and packaging area:
- Calibrating machines, changing slicer blades, and peeler rollers as necessary
- Ensuring minimum waste due to machine-related factors
Maintaining accurate and comprehensive reports:
- Ensuring quality checkers make end-of-shift reports and filing them daily
- Filling Weak Link Form, Daily Quality Report, weekly housekeeping audit score, and other reports
- Updating reports regularly
- Ensuring operators make quality relevant entries in their logbooks
- Submitting various quality control reports within the specified timeframe
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology
- Exposure to food safety systems and ISO systems for 3 to 5 years
- Preferably, knowledge of HACCP/AIB and TPM
