Master’s degree in any area of Engineering/Sciences with minimum marks as specified below Candidates with Master’s in Biotechnology/ Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering / Bioengineering / Food Processing Technology / Food Technology/ Biomedical Engineering/ Bioinformatics/Nanotechnology/ Agricultural Engineering/
Computer science/ Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree in the concerned branch.

M.Sc. degree in Biotechnology/ Microbiology / Biochemistry / Chemistry / Genetics / Environmental Science / Food Science Technology/ Veterinary Sciences/ Agricultural
Science/ Master’s degree in any area of Science or any branch of Biological Science.

Biochemistry

Minimum Eligibility Criteria for PG Candidates who would like to pursue PhD

⮚ A 1-year/2-semester master’s degree programme after a 4-year/8- semester bachelor’s
degree programme OR
⮚ A 2-year/4-semester master’s degree programme after a 3-year bachelor’s degree
programme OR
⮚ Qualifications declared equivalent to the master’s degree by the corresponding
statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in
a point scale wherever grading system is followed OR
⮚ M.Sc. Degree in Biochemistry / Biotechnology / Microbiology / Chemistry / Genetics /
Botany / Zoology / Environmental Science/Food Science and Technology or any branch of
Biological Science / M.Pharm. or M.V.Sc or M.Sc. (Agriculture) or MD, MS or M.Tech in
Biotechnology / Chemical Engineering / Food Technology. OR
⮚ An equivalent qualification from a foreign educational institution accredited by an
assessment and accreditation agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an
authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other

Bioinformatics

Minimum Eligibility Criteria for PG Candidates who would like to pursue PhD

⮚ A 2-year/4-semester master’s degree programme after a 3-year bachelor’s degree
programme OR

Chemistry

⮚ A 1-year/2-semester master’s degree programme after a 4-year/8-
semester bachelor’s degree programme OR
⮚ A 2-year/4-semester master’s degree programme after a 3-year bachelor’s degree
programme OR
⮚ Qualifications declared equivalent to the master’s degree by the corresponding
statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in
a point scale wherever grading system is followed OR
⮚ M.Sc- Chemistry (any specialization), Nanotechnology, Material Science, Environmental
Science, Environmental Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, M. Pharmacy, and
M.Tech-Chemical Engineering.
⮚An equivalent qualification from a foreign educational institution accredited by an
assessment and accreditation agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an
authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other
statutory authority in that country to assess, accredit or assure quality and standards of
the educational institution.
For a M.Phil Student: Candidates who have completed the M.Phil. programme with at
least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading
system is followed or equivalent qualification from a foreign educational institution
accredited by an assessment and accreditation agency which is approved, recognized or
authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or
any other statutory authority in that country to assess, accredit or assure quality and
standards of educational institutions, shall be eligible for admission to the Ph.D.
programme.

Food Science & Technology

⮚ A 1-year/2-semester master’s degree programme after a 4-year/8- semester bachelor’s
degree programme OR
⮚ A 2-year/4-semester master’s degree programme after a 3-year bachelor’s degree
programme OR
⮚ Qualifications declared equivalent to the master’s degree by the corresponding
statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in
a point scale wherever grading system is followed OR
⮚ M.Sc. degree in Food Science Technology, Food Science Nutrition, or any
branch of Life Sciences. M.Tech. (Food Technology) or equivalent degree
⮚ An equivalent qualification from a foreign educational institution accredited by an
assessment and accreditation agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an
authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other
statutory authority in that country to assess, accredit or assure quality and standards of
the educational institution.

Environmental Science

⮚ A 1-year/2-semester master’s degree programme after a 4-year/8- semester bachelor’s
degree programme OR
⮚ A 2-year/4-semester master’s degree programme after a 3-year bachelor’s degree
programme OR
⮚ Qualifications declared equivalent to the master’s degree by the corresponding
statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in
a point scale wherever grading system is followed OR
⮚ M.Sc. degree in Environmental Studies or Environmental Science or any PG degree in
Science or M.Sc. (Agriculture), Engineering – Chemical, Civil and Environmental
Engineering (B.E. / B.Tech. / M.Sc. (Engg.). OR
⮚ An equivalent qualification from a foreign educational institution accredited by an
assessment and accreditation agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an
authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other
statutory authority in that country to assess, accredit or assure quality and standards of
the educational institution.

Microbiology

⮚ A 1-year/2-semester master’s degree programme after a 4-year/8- semester bachelor’s degree programme OR

⮚ Qualifications declared equivalent to the master’s degree by the corresponding
