The Centre for Brain and Mind (CBM) is an exciting new scientific venture of the National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS) and the National Institute for Mental Health & Neurosciences (NIMHANS), supported by the Rohini Nilekani Philanthropies. The CBM aims to conduct cutting-edge research in the field of human mental illness, with the objective of discovering innovative methods for the diagnosis and clinical management of mental health conditions. As part of this program, CBM will be involved in generating and analyzing cellular models of human brain development and function using patient-derived induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and their differentiated derivatives. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about advancing stem cell-based disease model research and have expertise in iPSC derived neural tissue and genome editing technologies to join our research team.
Description:
Two Project Associate position
s are available for candidates with cell and molecular biology expertise to work in the CBM program. The appointments will be on a fixed-term basis initially for one (1) year, with the possibility of renewal annually based on performance assessment. The position offers a consolidated pay based on qualification and experience, in accordance with institutional guidelines.Essential Qualification:
- Postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline
- Two years of research experience
Desirable:
- Experience in mammalian cell culture and molecular biology
- Prior experience in stem cell culture (added advantage)
- Enthusiasm to learn, exceptional thoroughness, attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills
- Ability to collaborate with others and work in a team
Salary: Maximum of Rs. 43,400/- per month.
Age Limit: Below 35 years
