Position Available
Applications are invited for the position of Research Associate (Project Linked Persons) for extramural projects to be executed by the National Institute of Biomedical Genomics, Kalyani. The selected candidate will be appointed for a period of 1 year, with the possibility of extension based on performance and availability of funds.

Essential Educational Qualification and Experience
- PhD* in the areas of Biology/Computational Biology/Biostatistics.
- Experience in cell culture, molecular biology work, and NGS data analysis will be preferred.
- Age limit as per DST/funding agency norms.
*If the candidate has submitted the thesis and is waiting for the degree, they may apply. If selected, the
candidate will be provided the fellowship of SRF until they produce the degree awarding certificate.Fellowship: Rs. 47,000/- + HRA (9%) per month.
Project Description
This project involves in vitro/ex vivo maturation of RBC through primary cell culture. The research goal is focused on drug development for E Beta Thalassemia using various molecular signal inhibitors blockers and the CRISPR system. The project will include primary cell culture, CRISPR-based probe delivery and gene editing, validation through Flow cytometry, Confocal microscope, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), gene expression analysis, RNA Seq, as well as real-time PCR, and proteomics study as per need.

The decision of NIBMG in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of application, mode of selection, and conduct of interviews will be final and binding on the applicants. In exceptionally meritorious cases, the eligibility requirements may be relaxed by the competent authority.
