A walk-in-interview for various positions in the externally funded projects will be conducted on 6th November 2023 in the Division of Plant Physiology, ICAR-IARI, New Delhi-12. The posts are purely on contractual basis.

JRF/Project Associate I – Mainstreaming of Sesame germplasm for productivity enhancement through genomics assisted core development and trait discovery (DBT)
Project duration: up to March 2025
Salary: Rs. 31,000/- plus 24% HRA p.m. for 1&2 year; SRF/Project Associate-II in year 3, 4, & 5 with Rs. 35,000 plus 24% HRA p.m. Rs. 25,000/- plus 24% HRA p.m. for others without above qualification
Upper age: 35 years
Essential: 1st class Master’s degree in Agricultural Sciences/ Plant Physiology/ Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Genetics & Plant Breeding/Life Sciences (Plant Science)/ Agronomy / Botany (Physiology specialization). OR Post Graduate degree in relevant Professional courses.
Desirable: Experience of working with field crops, designing field layout, statistical analyses, data interpretation, report
writing, tissue nutrient analysis, etc. Expertise in MS-Office.JRF – Study of Physiological and Molecular basis of ammonia volatilization losses from rice canopy and its relationship with nitrogen use efficiency under changing climate (SERB-DST)
Project duration: up to March 2024
Salary: Rs. 31,000/- plus 24% HRA p.m. for NET/GATE or any National Level Exams conducted by Central Govt Dept.
Upper age: 35 years
Essential: 1st class Master’s degree in Plant or Crop Physiology, Botany (plant physiology), Biotechnology, Life Science (plant science)
Desirable: Experience of working with field crops, designing field layout, statistical analyses, data interpretation, report writing, basic molecular techniques. Expertise in MS-Office.
Young Professional II – Physiological basis of amelioration of heat stress through nitrogen management in wheat.
Project duration: up to August 2025
Salary: Rs. 35,000/- (Consolidated)
Upper age: 35 years
Essential: 1st class Master’s degree in Agricultural Sciences/ Plant or Crop Physiology/ Biotechnology/ Genetics & Plant Breeding/Life Sciences (Plant Science)
Desirable: Experience of working with field crops, data interpretation, handling of ICP-OES, CHNS analyser etc. report writing, Expertise in MS-Office.
Terms and conditions:
- Age relaxation of five years for SC/ST & women, and three years for OBC as per rule.
- The posts are purely temporary and will be filled on contractual basis which may be extended periodically subject to the performance of the candidate till the termination of the project.
- The candidate shall not claim regular appointment at this Institute, as the post is co-terminus with the project.
- Reporting time for walk-in-interview will be till 10.30 am and no candidates will be entertained after that.
- The candidates will have to compulsorily fill in application form (as per the format annexed), and attach copy of certificates from matriculation onwards, date of birth certificate, NET/LS/GATE equivalent certificate, degree certificates and a recent photograph enclosed onto the scan application form. Enclose the proof of experience, NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE (if employed) and publications.
- No TA/DA will be paid for attending for the interview or joining, if selected.
- Only the candidates meeting essential qualifications would be interviewed.
- Concealing of facts or CANVASSING in any form shall lead to disqualification of such candidates.
- In case of any disputes, it will be resolved in the jurisdiction of New Delhi court only.
- The final results of the interview will be hosted on the institute’s website 10 days after the interview, so no phone calls will be entertained before that.
